Rexel is a company leader in electrical goods distribution. It is present in 34 countries with about 2.400 selling points and about 30.000 employees, Rexel is leader in North America and Asia-Pacific and second in Europe, the company is listed at Euronext Paris Stock Exchange.

OBJECTIVES

Rexel decided to develop a Dematerialization and Document Delivery Project to satisfy several objectives:

  • Adopt the actual fiscal rules in terms of Legal Conservation (active cycle documents, passive invoices, accounting registers, other documents).
  • Follow the rule about Public Administrations that require Electronic Invoice since January 2009.
  • Reduce the document physical storage space in both the headquarter and the subsidiaries.
  • Obtain significant savings on mailing costs
  • Facilitate both internal and external audit processes
  • Provide to customers a fast invoices delivery service
THE PROJECT
The project is organized in subsequent steps:
1. Actual costs analysis
2. Saving estimation:
a. From Posta Prioritaria to Posta Massiva: 13K
b. From Paper to PDF: 75K
3. Provider selection in terms of affordability and competitiveness
4. Project presentation to the sales Force in order to show the customer service improvement
5. Letter of Acceptance for telematics transmission preparation
6. ERP Integration (master data, contacts, Faber Interfaces)
7. Project start date: march 2009
The services activated with Faber System are:
  • Active Cycle: spool transmission, paper or PDF mailing, indexing, archiving and Legal Conservation.
  • Passive Cycle: barcode application, document scanning, indexing, archiving and legal Conservation.
  • Accounting books: spool transmission, archiving and Legal Conservation.
  • WAM Uploader: all subsidiaries can connect to browse or send documents via e-Mail, all Accounting Department have access to Accounting Documents, Audit companies can browse documents autonomously.
  • Veg WAM Viewer: for direct access to documents from AS/400 Applications.
